Cognitive Coach ("we", "us") is an AI-assisted coaching app that helps AP students practice rubric-aligned essay writing. It is a supplementary study tool. It is not a school, not test preparation, not a substitute for a teacher or tutor, and does not guarantee any AP exam score, grade or exam result.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cognitive Coach. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must accept these terms on your behalf. Students and parents each hold their own account; either may be the billing party.
Your free trial ends at whichever comes first: (a) after you complete 3 graded assignments, or (b) 14 days after you sign up. After the trial ends, you must upgrade to continue using the AI coach. No credit card is required to start the trial.
Cognitive Coach never writes essays for you. Submitting AI-generated work as your own to a school violates most school honor codes. You agree to use Cognitive Coach as a coach, not a ghost-writer, and you take full responsibility for anything you submit to your teachers.
Feedback is checked against a fixed, published set of writing criteria, the same criteria applied the same way to every student. The coach asks questions and points to reasoning gaps; it does not write, rewrite or polish your essay. Writing-integrity signals are flags for human review, not proof of AI use.
Using Cognitive Coach does not guarantee any AP score, course grade, exam result or college admission outcome. We do not set, administer or grade the AP exams. Students remain responsible for their own study, practice and preparation. Cognitive Coach is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the College Board.
Cognitive Coach is a study aid that handles structured first reads and rubric checks between sessions with people. It is not a replacement for a qualified teacher or tutor, and it does not provide personalised academic, educational or professional advice.
Paid plans renew annually. You can cancel any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
You agree not to: (a) share your account, (b) attempt to reverse-engineer the service, (c) use it to harass or harm others, or (d) submit content that is illegal or violates a third party's rights. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
You own what you write. We store your submissions to give you feedback and progress tracking. We do not train third-party AI models on your writing. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The service is provided "as is". AI feedback may be wrong. Always cross-check feedback against your teacher's guidance and the official College Board rubric.
